Naval Facilities Engineering Command MILITARY SUPPORT LIAISON REPRESENTATIVE in Bangor, Washington
Summary You will serve as a Military Support Liaison Representative in the Administrative Office under the Command of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, Northwest. Responsibilities You will serve as a primary point of contact for military personnel, providing expert administrative support for a range of personnel actions. You will apply established regulations, such as the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) and Navy pay manuals, to research, troubleshoot, and resolve personnel discrepancies for service members. You will draft, edit, and review official Naval correspondence, notices, and directives to ensure accuracy, proper grammar, and adherence to established formatting standards. You will provide on-the-job guidance and instruction to junior or rotational staff on command-specific administrative procedures. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Processing and managing a range of military personnel actions, such as pay and entitlement transactions, performance evaluations (EVALs/FITREPS), awards processing, or check-in/check-out procedures using personnel systems (e.g., NSIPS, DTS. 2) Researching and applying regulations (such as the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) or Navy pay manuals) to identify and resolve a variety of personnel and pay discrepancies. 3) Drafting, editing, and reviewing official correspondence and directives to ensure accuracy, proper grammar, and adherence to established formats (such as the Navy Correspondence Manual). AND 4) Providing guidance and on-the-job training to junior or rotational staff on administrative or personnel-related processes. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Those who do not have the specialized experience listed under the Qualifications section may qualify with education or a combination of education and experience as follows: you have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree; or you have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree; or you have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position; or you have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Your percentage of the required education plus your percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
