Opportunity Overview
This role will have the opportunity to experience a range of activities, which vary week to week and sometimes day to day. You'll work closely with the Teradyne Continuing Engineering Group and many other groups within the company, to understand and resolve engineering-related defects for the installed base of existing Semiconductor Test ATE platforms.
Investigation and resolution of both production and customer issues with released products.
Leading activities to resolve factory “line-down” issues in a timely and efficient manner, taking ownership of issues from identification of issue through deployment of resolution.
Integrate with all parts of semi-test organization to support installed base for engineering related mechanical activities
Participate in and drive safety related escalations
Generation of specifications, details, BOM’s, and assemblies
Understanding of product development and manufacturing processes
ECO/ECN generation and implementation
Implementation of DFM and DFA principles
Small to medium project administration
Prototype procurement and vendor selection
Participation in design reviews and required meetings
Coordination of material rework activities

Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) minimum
Minimum of 8+ years direct experience
Experience working with E/M packaging layout and design including sheet metal, plastics, cabling, and PC Boards
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of general drafting and design standards including ANSI Y14.5 and GD & T.
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of SolidWorks
Working knowledge of Compliance/Regulatory design requirements
Ability to investigate technical fit and fabrication problems through tolerance analysis
Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision
Able to absorb, assimilate and synthesize information quickly
Must be self-motivated, team oriented, and “hands-on”
Excellent organizational, communication, and integration skills including the ability to foster and sustain communication between cross-functional groups.
Travel to customer sites or manufacturers located anywhere in the world to investigate and solve engineering issues (5% to 10%)
