Pearson Specialist, Solution Architect in Bangalore, India
Marketing Technology Business Analyst
Role Summary
The Marketing Technology Business Analyst plays a critical role in enabling the success of our centralized Marketing Technology (MarTech) organization. Following the consolidation of marketing technology capabilities into a single enterprise team, this role provides essential business analysis leadership to ensure scalable, well-governed, and strategically aligned use of our MarTech ecosystem.
This position serves as a key connector between global marketing, commercial, and technology stakeholders, translating complex, cross-platform business needs into clear requirements that drive high-quality solutions across eCommerce platforms, Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and related customer data and activation tools.
Operating with professional independence, the Business Analyst owns defined workstreams, proactively shapes future-state solutions, and materially contributes to roadmap clarity, solution quality, and delivery outcomes.
Business Context
Marketing initiatives increasingly span multiple platforms, regions, and business units. As a result, the centralized MarTech team faces growing complexity and demand across:
eCommerce platforms
Salesforce CRM and Salesforce Marketing Cloud
Customer data, integration, and activation capabilities across the MarTech suite
Without sufficient dedicated business analysis capacity, the organization faces risks including inconsistent requirements, reactive delivery, increased rework, and limited ability to proactively align stakeholders across time zones. This role directly addresses those risks by strengthening upfront analysis, cross-platform alignment, and future-state planning.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Leadership
Partner with marketing, commercial, and technology stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business needs across eCommerce, CRM, and marketing platforms
Translate evolving business objectives into clear, actionable functional and non-functional requirements
Develop high-quality artifacts such as process flows, capability maps, data flows, and requirement specifications
Cross-Platform Alignment & Future-State Planning
Ensure alignment of solutions across Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, eCommerce platforms, and supporting MarTech tools
Identify cross-platform dependencies, data considerations, and integration impacts early in the lifecycle
Contribute to future-state design by identifying opportunities for standardization, reuse, and simplification
Roadmap & Delivery Enablement
Support MarTech roadmap development by clarifying scope, sequencing, and interdependencies across initiatives
Proactively surface risks, gaps, and overlaps that could impact delivery or long-term scalability
Reduce downstream delivery risk by driving early stakeholder alignment and clarity of intent
Stakeholder Partnership
Act as a trusted partner to global stakeholders across regions and time zones
Facilitate working sessions and discussions to align priorities, resolve ambiguity, and drive informed decisions
Balance competing needs while maintaining focus on enterprise-wide outcomes
Level of Accountability
At the level, this role is expected to:
Operate with minimal supervision, owning defined analysis workstreams end-to-end
Exercise sound judgment in ambiguous and complex problem spaces
Influence outcomes through expertise, structured thinking, and stakeholder partnership
Contribute materially to solution quality, delivery effectiveness, and strategic alignment
This role does not have direct people management responsibilities but plays a critical leadership role through influence and expertise.
Required Qualifications
Strong experience as a Business Analyst supporting complex, enterprise-scale technology initiatives
Proven ability to work across multiple platforms and systems, particularly in marketing, CRM, eCommerce, or customer data domains
Demonstrated strength in requirements elicitation, documentation, and stakeholder facilitation
Experience working with globally distributed teams and stakeholders
Preferred Experience
Experience with Salesforce CRM and Salesforce Marketing Cloud
Exposure to eCommerce platforms and MarTech ecosystems
Understanding of customer data, integrations, and activation workflows
Experience contributing to technology roadmaps or future-state planning
Why This Role Matters
This role is foundational to the success of the centralized MarTech model. By strengthening upfront analysis, improving cross-platform alignment, and enabling proactive planning, the Marketing Technology Business Analyst helps the organization scale sustainably and fully realize the benefits of consolidation.
