Philips Software Technologist - AI in Bangalore, India

This role sits within Hospital Patient Monitoring (HPM) , which provides advanced monitoring solutions for acute care settings. From bedside and transport monitors to centralized systems, HPM helps clinicians identify at-risk patients and intervene quickly. The position is based in Bangalore , a key hub supporting innovation and collaboration across Philips.

We are seeking a highly driven Senior Software Engineer to join our growing AI engineering team in India. This role requires strong hands‑on development experience, a solid foundation in cloud‑native technologies, and an eagerness to work with emerging AI and Generative AI solutions. You will play a key role in building scalable, secure, and high‑quality software while collaborating with global teams across multiple time zones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable software solutions using modern engineering practices.

  • Write clean, efficient, and testable code with a strong focus on performance and reliability.

  • Build and maintain backend services and APIs to support distributed systems.

  • Develop cloud‑native applications on AWS , leveraging containerization and orchestration technologies.

  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines to enable automation and faster releases.

  • Work closely with global stakeholders, architects, and product teams to deliver rapid prototypes and production‑ready solutions.

  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical decision‑making.

  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and engineering excellence.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of hands‑on software development experience with and strong coding and design skills and an engineering graduate.

  • Proficiency in Python for backend development and automation.

  • Strong experience with AWS cloud services and cloud‑native architectures.

  • Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes (K8s), and load balancing .

  • Experience in API development and integration of distributed systems.

  • Working experience with .NET technologies .

  • Front‑end development experience using React, TypeScript , and modern UI frameworks.

  • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, data structures, and system design.

Good to Have / Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to or hands‑on experience with Generative AI , including LLMs and prompt engineering .

  • Experience working on AI‑enabled or intelligent applications.

  • Knowledge or practical experience with Rust is an added advantage.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and automation frameworks.

  • Ability to explore new technologies and deliver rapid prototypes in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Strong collaboration skills and experience working with cross‑geography / global teams .
