UL, LLC Senior Project Engineer - Solar PV Testing & Certification in Bangalore, India
Lead testing and certification projects for solar PV modules and solar energy products
Independently define project scope, test plans, timelines, costs, and certification pathways
Apply and interpret solar PV standards including IEC 61215, IEC 61730, IEC 61853, IEC 63209‑1, IEC 60904, along with relevant BIS and UL standards
Establish appropriate solar test programs by reviewing designs, technical files, and samples
Oversee design qualification, safety, performance, and reliability testing for solar PV modules
Identify non‑conformities, scope changes, or deviations and formally communicate them to clients
Act as Project Handler and technical reviewer for assigned solar certification files
Coordinate complex laboratory activities and validate solar test setups
Review, approve, and sign off on solar test reports and certification documentation
Resolve technical issues related to variation notices and solar module design changes
Provide technical guidance to solar clients on compliance requirements and corrective actions
Ensure laboratory and project compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, NABL, and accreditation requirements
Communicate project status, risks, and results through regular client interactions
Support development of new or special solar test methods where standards are evolving
Mentor engineers and support continuous improvement within solar testing operations
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Energy, or Industrial Engineering
10+ years of experience in solar PV testing, certification, or regulatory compliance
Strong technical knowledge of solar PV module technologies and testing methodologies
Proven expertise in IEC, BIS, and UL solar standards and certification schemes
Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, NABL, and quality management systems
Experience working in accredited laboratories, TIC organizations, or solar OEM compliance teams
Ability to independently manage complex solar certification and compliance projects
Strong technical documentation, report writing, and client‑facing communication skills
