About the Position
The Integration Software Engineer will deliver 3D scans and models of facilities for Digital Twin deployments across various assets. This role involves using advanced CAD software to develop accurate and efficient models that support engineering design, visualization, and analysis. He has to oversee AVEVA E3D setup and administration, database management, clash manager configuration, report customization, MDS customization (support modeling), creation and management of user- defined attributes (UDAs), and catalogue and specification building in a global environment.
Key Responsibilities
Capture accurate geometry and dimensions of assets and create realistic 3D models for design, analysis, and simulation.
Audit the quality of 3D models considering the necessary engineering and modelling requirements being delivered by 3rd party providers for correctness and adherence to Chevron standards.
Guide clients and stakeholders in specifying expectations to third parties for large-scale, outsourced 3D modelling efforts. Clearly outline and communicate these expectations for inclusion in contract documents and/or specifications.
Support design teams across disciplines and troubleshoot modelling issues.
Upload and extract attributes programmatically from 3D modelling software and validate against other data sources. Generate custom reports and key deliverables such as MTO, piping isometrics, equipment lists, and weight reports.
Configure project-specific customizations using PML/PML II.
Diagnose and rectify deviations in existing 3D models using AVEVA suite of software.
MDS set up and customization for Pipe support activities.
Configure clash management and generate clash reports in AVEVA E3D and Navisworks.
Create and manage catalogues and specifications for piping, equipment, structural, and electrical/instrumentation.
Prepare 3D modelling guidelines and specifications, incorporating lessons learned.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of relevant experience, including Minimum 4 years as an AVEVA E3D Piping Designer and 3 years in AVEVA E3D Administration or as-built modelling using AVEVA PCM (ideal candidate to have all three experiences; potential candidate with any two experience could be considered).
Strong knowledge of plant layout, piping design, and piping materials.
Knowledge of instrumentation, mechanical systems, HVAC, electrical components, and civil/structural elements.
Proficiency in creating macros using Programmable Macro Language (PML) for automation tasks.
Experience in setting up users and databases for multi-company collaboration.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective collaboration and communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong understanding of data integration, digital twin concepts and intelligent asset visualization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in as-built modelling using laser scan and point cloud data with AVEVA PCM software , to clarify and resolve issues while the modelling activities are in progress.
Domain Expertise
Oil & Gas industry experience preferred.
Advanced proficiency in AVEVA tools for 3D modelling and administration.
