What will you do:
In this role you will:
Execute New Product Development (NPD), Value Analysis & Value Engineering (VAVE), and New Technology Projects (NTP) & Quality & Reliability projects for Unitary HVAC platforms, with a focus on Airflow and Refrigeration subsystems.
Collaborate with global project owners, leaders, and cross-functional teams—including Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Suppliers—to ensure exceptional project execution adhering to company processes, and project management principles.
Ensure achievement of project milestones/deliverables within committed Quality (Q), Delivery (D), Project cost (C), and Product cost (C) targets.
Execute concept development, design calculations and selection of HVAC components and system integration aligned to market needs, regulatory standards (DOE, AHRI, ASHRAE, UL, AMCA), and sustainability goals.
Drive creation and release of engineering documentation using PLM/PDM tools including designs, drawings, bill of materials, and specifications.
Perform DFMEA, execute test plans, failure mode analysis, and engineering builds/testing.
Use data analytics and visualization (e.g., Tableau) for project management reporting and decision making.
Develop supplier qualification plans, support sourcing programs, and drive business continuity initiatives.
Contribute to process improvement and publish/present technical papers as needed.
Develop intellectual property for the organization through patentable solutions, actively contribute to external engagement such as technical paper presentation in internal and external forums.
What you will bring:
B.E. / B. Tech Mechanical / M. Tech in Thermal Sciences/related specialization.
5+ years hands-on experience in HVAC product/system design and development, including component selection, system integration, concept development, and design in New Product Development (NPD), Value Analysis & Value Engineering (VAVE), and New Technology Projects (NTP) & Quality & Reliability projects
Core knowledge of Thermodynamic principles
Core knowledge of HVAC components selection, simulation, testing for compressors, heat exchangers, expansion valves, filter driers, reversing valves, check valves, tubings
Core knowledge of HVAC products simulation, test plan creation and testing
Core knowledge of airflow components selection and testing like fans & motors will be added advantage
Core knowledge of Refrigeration & Airflow related standards (ASHRAE 90.1, AHRI 340/360, AHRI 1340, ASHRAE 37, UL 60335-2-40, AMCA 210)
Knowledge of Systems Engineering and MBSE will be an added advantage
Basic programming knowledge will be an added advantage
Hands-on experience of engineering tools like DFMEA, DVPR, FRACAS & A3.
Understand project requirements, collaborate with project owners, leaders & cross-functional teams across the globe for the delivery of projects, by adhering to Product Development Process (Gate process) and Project Management principles
Ability to solve technical problems, identify solutions, lead concept reviews, critical design reviews, and other technical discussions with the global team
Execute concept development, design/select & develop components along with suppliers, develop component specifications for HVAC components
Co-ordinate with cross functional team to implement design changes by leading discussions
Proven track record of innovation projects, Proof of Concept projects, patent grant and technical publications is added advantage
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills—able to present technical concepts and results clearly and concisely
