The Scrum Master Senior will mentor and guide our employees in how to figure out the best solutions for
their specific departmental challenges. This person will analyze our organization’s existing infrastructure
and implement improvements to help streamline processes and create efficiencies. Ultimately, the Scrum
Master Senior is a agile team delivery coach that will play a key role in long-term strategy across the
business, helping our teams deliver better products in a faster, more efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
• Work with product teams to analyze current systems and processes and design a strategy for
adopting agile best practices
• Guide teams in how to stay on track with agile techniques, fine-tuning their approach to ensure
that overall strategy is being met
• Lead agile workshops for developer and functional teams, as well as for key stakeholders
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, setting goals and milestones and assigning
responsibility
• Drive cultural change by championing an agile mindset, and ensure the organization is adhering
to industry best practices
• Facilitate learning and development among employees through individual and team coaching
• Coach teams in agile practices to ensure adoption of best practices
• Communicate agile principles, scrum practices, and overall operating model across the
organization
• Champion the use of metrics and other objective measures by teams
• Undertake daily follow-ups with individual team members to ensure projects are on track and
goals are being met
• Maintain objectivity regarding issues and how to troubleshoot them by applying agile principles
• Facilitate Scrum events as needed or requested. This may include but is not limited to Sprint
Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
• Guide, coach, and mentor the Developers and Product Owners in understanding and using
Scrum through its practices, principles, and values.
• Identify and cause the removal of impediments that may be preventing the Scrum Teams from
delivering maximum value or reaching Product or Sprint goals.
• Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, encouraging effective communication and
teamwork.
• Help the team define and implement systems that promote transparency and continuous
improvement.
• Ensure the team can protect itself from external distractions and interruptions to allow more focus
on delivering high-value and high-quality work each and every Sprint.
• Ensure the Developers know how to monitor and track their progress toward Sprint Goals
providing transparency to whoever requires it.
• Continuously improve the team’s understanding and implementation of Scrum including the use
of complementary practices found in the broader agile development industry.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
• Bachelor's Degree required. Advanced Degree preferred
Minimum Work Experience (years):
• 5+ Years of experience
Key Skills and Competencies:
• Four or more years of experience as agile transformation coach or equivalent servant leadership role, leading and coaching product development teams.
• Six or more years of experience as a scrum master.
• Four or more years of experience as a product owner and working with product leadership to define product strategy.
• Experience in using scrum, kanban, and scaled agile frameworks.
• Track record of implementing agile techniques in different work cultures and environments.
• Experience in running agile projects of varying size and complexity
• Strong skills for leading, educating, and coaching.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Certifications as agile coach or scrum master. Advanced certifications from Scrum Alliance, ICAgile, SAFe are strongly recommended
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate and lead meetings effectively
• Experience leading 6+ product teams simultaneously
• Experience in coaching at mid to large organizations or Fortune 1000 companies
Licenses/Certifications, special qualifications:
• Range of different advanced agile coaching certifications from Scrum Alliance, SAFe, ICAgile, Kanban University
