POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer (Web) with deep expertise in Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) and a specialization in PWA Kit / Composable Storefront. You will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance, headless B2C eCommerce solutions.

The ideal candidate is an expert in React, who has been part of migration projects from different eCommerce platforms and from SFCC – SFRA into SFCC – PWA Kit, is an expert in Managed Runtime (MRT) , can establish and follow coding standards, resolve bugs, vulnerabilities created by QA and Code quality platforms tools like SonarQube, and bridge modern frontend frameworks with SFCC’s backend power.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

· Develop Headless Features: Build and maintain PWA storefront features including PDP, PLP, Cart, and Checkout using the Retail React App template.

· Code Optimization: Lead the cleanup of the codebase by monitoring SonarQube reports and implementing architectural fixes to ensure high quality-gate scores.

· API Orchestration: Implement and extend SCAPI/OCAPI integrations and handle complex data mapping between SFCC and the React frontend.

· Managed Runtime (MRT): Deploy and manage bundle versions and environment configurations within the Salesforce Managed Runtime.

· Security & Auth: Implement secure shopper authentication using SLAS (Shopper Login and API Access Service).

· UI/UX Excellence: Translate Figma/high-fidelity designs into responsive, accessible, and performant React components.

· Collaboration: Partner with Product, UX/UI, and Backend teams to ensure seamless end-to-end user journeys.

· Troubleshooting: Use SFCC Log Center, MRT logs, and browser debugging tools to resolve complex production issues.

· Team work: Participate in scrums and work with SI partners to deliver business requirements.

· Internal: Works closely with business and technology teams, including engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.

· External: Engages with technology vendors, consultants, and industry partners to stay updated on best practices and emerging trends.

· Direct: None

· Indirect: Provide leadership & guidance to outsourced vendor resources

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Maintain the environment to minimize budget overflows

DECISION MAKING:

· Leads decision-making on data product development and prioritization in collaboration with stakeholders.

· Recommends technology investments and improvements to enhance data product capabilities.

RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY:

· Ensures technology solutions align with business needs, emphasizing usability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

· Requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex business and technical challenges.

ENVIRONMENT: This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities effectively. Domestic and international travel may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:

· 5+ years of software engineering experience.

· 2+ Headless storefront implementation experience preferably with full cycle implementation of SFCC Composable storefront/PWA Kit.

· Expert-level React knowledge, including Hooks, Context API, SSR (Server-Side Rendering), and state management.

· Strong grasp of SFCC Core Concepts: Mastery of SCAPI (Salesforce Commerce API) and OCAPI is essential.

· Code Quality Specialist: Proven experience resolving issues reported by Code quality platforms, including security vulnerabilities, code smells, and maintainability debt.

· Modern Frontend Stack: Expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, ES6+, and Chakra UI (or similar CSS-in-JS libraries).

· Integration Expertise: Experience integrating with OMS, Payment Gateways (via SLAS), and third-party services in a decoupled environment.

· Performance Mindset: Strong understanding of Core Web Vitals, Service Workers, and caching strategies within Managed Runtime.

· Agile/Scrum: Experience delivering scalable UI within fast-paced Agile environments.

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree required, in any relevant business, liberal arts, STEM, or technology/engineering disciplines

Skills:

· SFCC PWA Kit and Composable Storefront.

· Experience with 3rd Party tools like Optimizely, Content stack

· Experience with Mocha for automated testing.

· Knowledge of traditional SFRA (to assist in migration/logic extraction).

· Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.

· Languages: JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, JSON, SCSS.

· SFCC: PWA Kit, Composable Storefront, SCAPI, OCAPI, Business Manager, SLAS.

· Frontend: React (Expert), TypeScript, Node.js, CSS-in-JS (Chakra UI).

· Quality/DevOps: SonarQube, Git, Jira, Postman, Managed Runtime (MRT).

· Legacy Systems: SFRA, ISML (understanding required for migration logic).

  • Note: Apex-only or traditional SFRA-only profiles are NOT suitable; this role requires deep React and Headless-specific SFCC experience. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to refactor legacy logic into modern React patterns. Candidates must have recent, hands-on experience with PWA Kit implementation .
