Your role and responsibilities
As a Quality Engineer specializing in Middleware, you will focus on testing applications and systems, ensuring they meet requirements and function as intended. You will utilize your expertise in Service Oriented Architecture, WebServices, and Middleware integration concepts to deliver high-quality solutions. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Develop Test Scenarios and Cases: Create comprehensive test scenarios and cases to verify system functionality and identify potential issues. This involves understanding and managing inter-application dependencies and developing environment availability and refresh plans. • Execute Testing Protocols: Perform functional and non-functional testing at the component integration layers, invoking application interfaces using integration protocols such as WebServices, MQ, JMS, and RMI. • Manage Environment Tasks: Oversee day-to-day environment management tasks, ensuring seamless testing operations and minimizing downtime. • Verify System Requirements: Confirm that the system is built according to requirements, identifying and reporting any discrepancies or defects. • Implement Test Cases for SOA: Design and execute test cases specifically for Service Oriented Architecture, ensuring its successful integration with other systems.
Required technical and professional expertise
• Middleware Integration Expertise: Experience with Service Oriented Architecture, WebServices, and Middleware integration concepts, including functional and non-functional testing at the component integration layers. • Testing Protocol Knowledge: Experience with invocation of application interfaces using integration protocols such as WebServices, MQ, JMS, and RMI. • Test Scenario Development: Experience with developing comprehensive test scenarios and cases to verify system functionality and identify potential issues. • Environment Management: Experience with managing day-to-day environment management tasks, including environment availability and refresh plans. • Component Integration Testing: Experience with performing functional and non-functional testing at the component integration layers, understanding and managing inter-application dependencies.
Preferred technical and professional experience
• Middleware Integration Exposure: Exposure to additional middleware technologies and protocols, such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or IBM Integration Bus, can be beneficial in this role. • Advanced Testing Methodologies: Familiarity with advanced testing methodologies, such as Test-Driven Development (TDD) or Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), can enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness. • Cloud-Based Environment Management: Experience with cloud-based environment management tools, such as AWS or Azure, can be advantageous in managing day-to-day environment tasks.
