Job Title: Manager, Mechanical Syatem Engineer
Role Overview:
Lead the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies, ensuring compliance with global standards and driving innovation in product performance, cost optimization, and reliability. This role combines technical leadership , strategic planning , and team management to deliver high-quality solutions for complex mechanical systems.
The role involves concept generation, detailed design, prototyping, testing, and supporting manufacturing processes.
Ona typical day you will:
Technical Leadership:
Define design strategies for mechanical components (frames, safeties, governors, guide rails, etc.).
Ensure adherence to IS, EN, ASME, and other relevant codes and standards.
Project Management:
Oversee multiple design projects from concept to production.
Manage timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for development programs.
Innovation & Optimization:
Drive cost reduction, weight optimization, and manufacturability improvements.
Introduce advanced simulation and analysis techniques (FEA, fatigue analysis, reliability studies).
Team Development:
Mentor and guide design engineers; build technical competency within the team.
Foster collaboration across mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Interface with suppliers, certification bodies, and customers for technical approvals.
Support global engineering initiatives and technology roadmaps.
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure all designs meet safety, regulatory, and quality requirements.
Maintain accurate design documentation and change management through PLM systems.
What you will need to be successfull:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
12+ years of experience in mechanical design and development, with at least 4–5 years in a leadership role.
Expertise in CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks) and FEA analysis.
Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical standards (IS, EN81, ASME).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Proven track record in managing complex projects and cross-functional teams.
ANY OTHER KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES IF REQUIRED
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Creative and open mind, work hard and energetic, good teamwork and ethical
Experience in elevator industry or similar heavy machinery sectors.
Familiarity with PLM systems, DFMEA/PFMEA, and reliability engineering.
Exposure to global compliance and certification processes.
