Honeywell Lead IT Architect in Bangalore, India
This role is responsible for designing the technical architecture of the Lab, building and delivering the hands-on training curriculum for Early Career Associates, and leading the design and execution of Proof of Concept (POC) projects that solve real Honeywell business problems.
Reporting directly to the VP, India Regions, and working in close partnership with the Director of University Relations & Innovation Lab, this architect is the person who turns the Lab’s vision into working technology.
They are a practitioner, a mentor, and a strategic thinker — someone who can operate at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and real-world enterprise impact.
Innovation Lab – Technical Leadership
Serve as the lead technical architect for the Honeywell Aerospace IT Innovation Lab
Define the Lab's technical infrastructure, tooling stack, and development environment
Establish architectural standards, patterns, and guardrails for all POC development within the Lab
Drive technical quality and rigor across all Lab projects — ensuring POCs are well-architected, scalable, and presentable to senior stakeholders
Training Curriculum Design & Delivery
Design and deliver a structured technical training curriculum for the 18 Early Career Associates across priority domains:
Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI/ML, GenAI, Python, LLMs)
ERP & S4 Hana (functional and technical concepts relevant to Aerospace)
Data Engineering (pipelines, data lakes, cloud data platforms)
DevOps, Cloud Architecture, and Software Development best practices
Develop hands-on labs, exercises, and capstone projects that bridge training and real-world POC delivery
Partner with external training providers and university faculty to supplement internal curriculum where needed
Track trainee progress, identify skill gaps, and personalize learning paths for individual associates
POC Development & Business Problem Solving
Identify, define, and prioritize real Honeywell Aerospace business problems as POC opportunities across domains including Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, and Engineering
Lead Early Career Associates in designing and building POC solutions — acting as architect, mentor, and technical reviewer
Present POC outcomes to senior IT and business stakeholders — translating technical results into business value narratives
Evaluate POCs for scalability and recommend high-value solutions for handover to operational IT towers
Architecture Governance & Enterprise Alignment
Ensure all Lab technical output aligns with Honeywell enterprise architecture standards, security policies, and governance frameworks
Serve as the technical bridge between the Innovation Lab and the broader Honeywell Aerospace IT architecture community
Contribute to COE capability frameworks — defining the technical skills taxonomy and architecture patterns for the AI COE and S4 COE
YOU MUST HAVE
7+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, or senior technical roles
Hands-on expertise in at least two of the following: AI/ML, GenAI, SAP/S4 Hana, Data Engineering, Cloud Architecture
Proven experience mentoring and developing early-career or junior technical talent
Strong track record of designing and delivering Proof of Concept solutions that drive measurable business outcomes
Excellent communication skills — able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
WE VALUE
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
Relevant certifications: TOGAF, AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, SAP Certified, or equivalent
Experience in Aerospace, Industrial, or Manufacturing technology environments
Prior experience in a corporate innovation lab, R&D center, or startup/incubator setting
Passion for teaching, knowledge sharing, and building the next generation of technology talent
