Your role and responsibilities
As an Infrastructure Specialist in System Administration, you will provide 24/7 technical support for cloud-based solutions, ensuring seamless operations across various applications, DevOps, middleware, security, and infrastructure components. You will play a critical role in building, setting up, and maintaining new development tools, infrastructure, and networking. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Manage Cloud Applications: Develop and configure infrastructure and configuration as code using Ansible and Terraform, ensuring seamless deployment and maintenance of cloud applications across Dev, Test, and Production environments hosted on Windows, Linux, and Unix servers. • Ensure System Security: Identify and fix technical problems, install software updates and 'fixes', and ensure systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats, utilizing knowledge of load balancing and CDN options provided by multiple cloud vendors. • Support Logging Cluster: Install and maintain a logging cluster using Logstash, ElasticSearch, and Kibana as a centralized solution to parse logs from application and docker containers. • Resolve Technical Issues: Identify and resolve issues involving APIs, application services, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, microservices, containers, Kubernetes nodes, ICP management, middleware components, network, security, and infrastructure problems, escalating to the appropriate support level when necessary. • Provide Service Management Reports: Manage Application ID, provide cloud elasticity by auto-scaling resources based on business requirements, and ensure DR and manual redundancy failover capabilities, providing regular service management reports to keep clients informed.
Required technical and professional expertise
• Cloud Application Administration: Experience with developing and configuring infrastructure and configuration as code using Ansible and Terraform, with a strong understanding of cloud application architecture and deployment across Dev, Test, and Production environments. • System Security Management: Experience in ensuring system security, identifying and fixing technical problems, and installing software updates, with knowledge of load balancing and CDN options provided by multiple cloud vendors. • Logging Cluster Administration: Experience with installing and maintaining a logging cluster using Logstash, ElasticSearch, and Kibana to parse logs from application and docker containers. • Technical Issue Resolution: Experience in resolving issues involving APIs, application services, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, microservices, containers, Kubernetes nodes, ICP management, middleware components, network, security, and infrastructure problems. • IT Service Management: Experience with ITIL processes and Integrated Service Level Management, with the ability to provide regular service management reports and manage Application ID, cloud elasticity, and DR and manual redundancy failover capabilities.
Preferred technical and professional experience
• Database Administration Knowledge: Experience with installing and configuring MYSQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, and other databases, with a strong understanding of database management principles. • Cloud Vendor Options: Familiarity with load balancing and CDN options provided by multiple cloud vendors, such as Azure Load Balancer and Application Gateway. • ITIL Process Understanding: Experience with ITIL processes and Integrated Service Level Management, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a cloud-based infrastructure environment.
