Reporting to the Technical Support Manager, the Engineer - Service Bench Repair is responsible for diagnosis, repair, calibration, testing, and refurbishment of Hach water quality instruments at the authorized repair center. The role ensures high repair quality, quick turnaround time, compliance with service standards, and continuous improvement through detailed failure analysis and knowledge sharing.
This position is part of the India Commercial Organization located in Bangalore and will be Hybrid.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
Perform bench‑level diagnosis, repair, calibration, and functional testing of Hach analytical instruments.
Execute repairs in accordance with Hach service manuals, quality standards, and safety procedures.
Identify root causes of failures and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure first‑time‑right repair outcomes and adherence to agreed turnaround times (TAT).
Accurately document repair actions, parts usage, and test results in CRM/repair systems.
Support refurbishment, exchange, and warranty repair activities as per service policies.
Create and update knowledge base articles based on repair and troubleshooting experience.
Provide technical feedback to Technical Support, Field Service, and Product teams.
Support spares identification, failure trend analysis, and quality improvement initiatives.
Maintain repair tools, test equipment, and calibration standards in the lab.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Instrumentation / Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Chemical).
3 - 6 years of experience with proven service revenue growth responsibility.
Hands‑on experience repairing analytical instruments (pH/ORP, turbidity, conductivity, sodium, TOC, etc.) preferred.
Strong fault‑finding, analytical, and hands‑on repair skills.
Ability to read schematics, service manuals, and calibration procedures.
Willingness to relocate across India basis job / company priorities
Willingness to travel
Good written and verbal communication skills
Teamwork and ability to work across cultures, locations, and business teams
Expertise in MS office. Exposure to Copilot AI tools would be added advantage
Proactive and action-oriented with an eye for detail
Self-motivated with a passion for driving business growth in a rapidly evolving market
Problem-solving skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions to meet customer needs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to build and maintain customer relationships
