Role Summary:
The Cloud Security Engineer at Honeywell is responsible for designing, implementing, and enforcing cloud security controls across Honeywell’s global multi-cloud footprint. This role ensures that cloud platforms and services comply with Honeywell security policies, TCM baseline controls, and regulatory requirements. The position also enables secure innovation across IT and OT environments.
Cloud Security at Honeywell focuses on preventing misconfigurations, reducing risk, and embedding security by designing SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS platforms. The ideal candidate will also bring skills in automation and artificial intelligence to enhance security operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Platform Security:
· Own and implement cloud security controls across AWS, Azure, GCP, and Alibaba Cloud, ensuring alignment with Honeywell standards, baselines, and CIS Benchmarks.
· Ensure all cloud environments meet Honeywell security requirements for identity & access control, encryption, network security, logging, backup, and incident response.
· Support secure onboarding of new cloud services and architectures in accordance with Honeywell cloud security policies.
CSPM & Continuous Compliance:
· Develop, deploy, and maintain Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) policies across supported cloud platforms.
· Continuously monitor security posture and drive remediation of misconfigurations in collaboration with cloud service owners.
· Track and report compliance metrics, with the goal of promoting sustained compliance posture improvements across all clouds.
Policy, Risk & Governance:
· Interpret and operationalize Honeywell cloud security policies and baselines (SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS).
· Perform cloud security risk assessments, gap analysis, and manage policy exceptions through formal risk processes.
· Ensure cloud services align with Honeywell’s change management and incident response processes.
Architecture & Secure Design:
· Review cloud architectures and reference designs to ensure compliance with Honeywell security architecture and segmentation requirements.
· Promote secure design principles and least privilege practices across development and operations teams.
· Participate in security architecture reviews for new cloud workloads and major design changes.
Stakeholder Engagement & Enablement:
· Partner with IT, engineering, product, and OT teams to embed cloud security controls while maintaining business agility.
· Provide security guidance, documentation, and awareness to cloud consumers and service owners.
· Support audits, assessments, and customer/security assurance activities related to cloud deployments.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field.
· 5+ years of experience in cloud security, infrastructure security, or cybersecurity engineering.
· Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP); multi-cloud experience strongly preferred.
Strong Understanding of:
· Cloud IAM, encryption, network segmentation, logging & monitoring.
· SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS security models.
· Security baselines and policy enforcement.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience implementing or operating CSPM tools and compliance automation.
· Familiarity with industrial or hybrid IT/OT cloud environments.
· Knowledge of regulatory and security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, SOC, OWASP, CIS Benchmarks).
· Cloud security certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP Security, CCSP, CISSP).
· Proficiency in automation techniques and AI applications for enhancing cloud security operations.
