We are adding a Senior Engineering Manager to the growing Product Engineering organization. As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading multiple engineering teams and Engineering Managers while driving the successful delivery of strategic product initiatives.

This role blends organizational leadership, people leadership, delivery execution, and technical stewardship. The Senior Engineering Manager operates at both the team and organizational level to ensure consistent engineering practices, scalable delivery models, and strong talent development across the Product Engineering organization. Essential Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead, coach, and develop Engineering Managers and Software Engineers across multiple Scrum teams.

  • Serve as a senior people leader for the organization, supporting hiring strategy, performance management, career development, and succession planning.

  • Oversee delivery health across multiple teams, ensuring alignment to strategic priorities, cross-team coordination, and predictable outcomes.

  • Drive delivery execution across teams by partnering with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Architects, and peer leaders to ensure aligned priorities and capacity balance.

  • Identify and address systemic issues impacting engineering effectiveness, including processes, dependencies, tooling, architecture alignment, and team structure.

  • Ensure teams consistently deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software aligned with architectural standards.

  • Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term technical health, platform sustainability, and team capacity.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, psychological safety, and continuous improvement across teams.

  • Serve as a senior escalation point for delivery risks, people challenges, and cross-team conflicts.

  • Contribute to organizational design, capacity planning, and workforce strategy to support business growth and product roadmap needs.

  • Help define and reinforce engineering standards, best practices, and ways of working across teams.

  • Collaborate with Architecture and senior technical leaders to ensure sound technical direction and alignment.

  • Monitor delivery and engineering health metrics across teams and use data to drive organizational improvement.

  • Encourage engineering best practices including code reviews, testing, documentation, and operational excellence.

  • Mentor Engineering Managers and emerging technical and people leaders.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and senior leadership on progress, risks, and outcomes.

  • Support organizational initiatives related to process improvement, tooling, and engineering maturity

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.

  • 10+ years of professional experience in software development or technology roles.

  • 5+ years of experience leading software engineering teams, including experience managing Engineering Managers or multiple teams.

  • Demonstrated experience managing managers and engineers with direct HR responsibility.

  • Strong understanding of modern software development practices, architectures, and delivery models.

  • Experience overseeing delivery across multiple Scrum teams or complex initiatives.

  • Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and operational levels.

  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.).

  • Demonstrated experience scaling engineering teams and delivery models.

  • Strong ability to influence across functions without direct authority.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage competing demands.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • Passion for developing leaders and building strong, engaged teams.

  • Driven to continuously learn, improve, and evolve as a leader.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Experience acting as a technical lead, architect, or senior engineer prior to moving into management.

  • Experience leading large or multi-product engineering organizations.

  • Experience managing distributed or hybrid teams.

  • Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and modern DevOps practices.

  • Experience delivering software in regulated industries (healthcare, finance, insurance).

  • Exposure to AWS-based platforms and services.

  • Experience establishing engineering processes and standards across teams.

  • Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives related to Agile maturity and delivery excellence.

  • Experience leading through organizational growth or transformation.

  • Strong partnership mindset with Product Management and Architecture.

  • Previous experience supporting enterprise-scale platforms or multiple product lines.

Based on relevant market data and other factors, the anticipated hiring range for this role is $162 ,400 to $203 ,000 annually. Final compensation rates will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, and internal equity considerations. This role is also short-term incentive eligible. Incentive amounts will vary by individual and business goals.
