Expected salary range of $113,400 to $126,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
Primary Purpose of Position
Responsible for providing technical, regulatory and programmatic direction on environmental issues for Power. Assures that the highest level of compliance is maintained with all applicable environmental rules and regulations. Responsible for licensing, permitting and completion of specific environmental regulatory filings in one or more environmental programs including, but not limited to, air pollution control, water pollution control, spill planning and prevention, storage tank management, solid and hazardous waste management and remediation.
Primary Duties and Accountabilities
Prepare and submit permit applications, review drafts, prepare comments and negotiate final permits.
Prepare, review and submit agency reports and filings, and respond to agency inquiries. Comment on proposed regulations applying strong analytical skills.
Provide facility advice, develop and implement environmental strategies, prepare and issue regulatory interpretations related to area of subject matter expertise (air, water, waste etc.), utilizing excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal.
Provide technical and regulatory support and expertise to environmentally related projects and programs to assure compliance with all appropriate environmental regulations. Manage multiple issues/priorities with conflicting priorities.
Participate in Environmental Management System (EMS) ISO 14001 certification, review and improvement activities.
Develop and track site level environmental performance.
Review and update the Management Model related to area of subject matter expertise (air, water, waste, etc.)
All other job assignments and/or duties pursuant to company policy or as directed by management to include but not limited to: (Department duty coverage and/or call out, and positions outside of department in support of outage activities etc.)
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, natural or physical sciences, or environmental science or related program with 5 years related experience OR
Associate's degree in engineering, natural or physical sciences, or environmental science or related program with 7 years related experience OR
High school diploma/GED with 9 years experience
Maintain minimum access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
Experience with federal, state and local environmental rules and regulations and their implementation requirements
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the following air pollution control, water pollution control, storage tank management, emergency planning and release reporting, hazardous waste management, spill prevention, control and countermeasures (SPCC), and stormwater management
Experience with environmental regulatory requirements for power plants
Experience with Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001)
Professional certification or other industry recognition
Project Management experience
