Insight Global Security Camera Install Technician in Baltimore, Maryland

Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking a dependable Security Camera Installation Technician to support the installation and setup of video surveillance systems at customer sites. This role is focused exclusively on mounting, configuring, and commissioning security cameras that have already been pre-wired by other teams.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with CCTV systems, understands camera positioning and configuration, and takes pride in clean, professional installations.

Key Responsibilities

Mount, position, and properly aim security cameras per project requirements

Install and connect cameras to existing cabling and network drops

Configure camera settings, including resolution, frame rate, motion detection, and recording schedules

Assist with setup and basic configuration of NVRs/DVRs and PoE switches (as needed)

Test camera functionality, field of view, and recording to ensure system performance

Label and document installed equipment according to company standards

Troubleshoot basic camera and connectivity issues

Work with project managers and lead technicians to complete installs on schedule

Maintain a clean, professional work area at customer sites

Follow all safety guidelines and installation best practices

Compensation:

$20/hr to $25/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Skills and Requirements

1–3 years of experience installing or configuring security camera systems

Familiarity with IP and/or analog CCTV cameras

Experience mounting cameras on walls, ceilings, and other structures

Comfortable working on ladders and lifts

Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license Experience with camera brands such as Axis, Hanwha, Avigilon, Hikvision, or similar

Exposure to access control or other low-voltage security systems

Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, device discovery)

Manufacturer or industry certifications
