Johns Hopkins University Research Data Analyst in Infectious Diseases in Aging Population (Epidemiology) - #Staff in Baltimore, Maryland
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to join our dynamic research team as a one-year full-time Research Data Analyst , in Infectious Diseases in Aging Population focusing on multiple molecular epidemiology projects in the areas of aging and chronic infection. The position can be extended beyond one year if funding is available. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the integrity and quality of research data through comprehensive data quality reviews and management practices. This position also offers opportunities for co-authorship on papers and the potential to develop independent first-author projects.
The Research Data Analyst will provide data analysis and related activities for various types of research projects and studies. The Research Data Analyst will contribute to ongoing development, maintenance, and use of a research data pipeline that collects and analyzes data.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Collect data and generate reports and models.
Run models, analyze model results, and prepare reports on the analysis.
Conduct analyses in support of the assigned research project or study.
Conduct statistical analyses using standard and statistical software packages.
Design and prepare tables to illustrate analytic findings.
Manage or contribute to entry of data in the assigned database.
May engage in other research related responsibilities.
Other duties as assigned.
In addition to the duties described above
Data cleaning, conducting longitudinal data analyses, and synthesizing various data types, including genetics, epigenetics, and other multi-omics datasets.
Interpret and analyze data using statistical methods, generate reports and visual presentations of research findings, and contribute to the writing and preparation of manuscripts for publication.
Attend study meetings to discuss progress and collaborate with the research team.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Three years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in one or more statistical software programs (e.g., R, STATA, Python).
Master’s degree graduate or PhD in progress in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Computational Biology, or a related field.
Experience with bioinformatics, single or multi-omics data, or longitudinal data analysis is preferred.
Familiarity with the Johns Hopkins High-Performance Computing Environment (JHPCE) is a plus but not required.
