How you’ll make an impact in this role
Perform pulmonary function and stress testing to evaluate insufficiencies and facilitate diagnoses.
Determine reference ranges and interpret data, ensuring results meet applicable standards.
Oversee patient status during and after testing, adapting procedures to ensure safety and comfort.
Identify and correct for invalid test to guarantee data accuracy.
Execute the calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of sophisticated diagnostic equipment.
Record and report diagnostic findings and provide clear clinical summaries for the medical team.
Oversee supplies and ensure stock levels in designated clinical areas.
Translate clinical information for patients and families while providing education and resources.
What minimum requirements you’ll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Maryland Board of Physicians obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist accepted.
Respiratory Therapist specializing in Pulmonary Function credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Certified or Registered Pulmonary Function Therapist accepted preferred.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
