WHITMAN REQUARDT ASSOC Mechanical Engineer - Mid-Level in Baltimore, Maryland

Responsibilities:

  • Construction Documentation:Develop plans, sections, schedules, details, controls, cost estimates, and specifications for mechanical systems.
  • Engineering Design Analysis:Conduct mechanical system selection, energy and life cycle cost analysis, and ensure designs meet energy and sustainable design targets.
  • Team Engagement:.Coordinate with other disciplines and project stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Technical Expertise:Develop control strategies, calculations, system concepts, layouts, and designs.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical support to junior engineers and staff members, fostering their professional growth.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Maryland or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of employment.
  • 11-15 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Proficiency in industry software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and energy modeling software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Must be a US Citizen

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient knowledge of a variety of mechanical system designs, including DX packaged systems, hydronic systems, chilled water plants, heating water plants, and plumbing.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and guidelines.
  • Experience in sustainable design practices.
  • Excellent interdisciplinary coordination skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with project stakeholders.

The expected compensation range for this position is $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidates relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience
