CareFirst Enterprise Architecture Intern - MD & DC (Hybrid) in Baltimore, Maryland

CareFirst runs a year-round internship program. The ideal candidate is someone who can work throughout the year 15-20 hours per week.
PURPOSE:
The organizational function of an Enterprise Architecture (EA) team is to ensure that business strategy, operating model, capabilities, information, and technology investments are intentionally aligned so the enterprise delivers value faster, with less redundancy, lower risk, and clearer accountability.
Interns assist the company with tasks set out by various teams, such as research, data capturing, and working closely with different team members to learn more about the company. As an intern for the Enterprise Architecture team, the individual will play a key role in helping us design and launch procedures that will help maintain this reliability and consistency of enterprise portfolio data. This internship will also assist with procedural mechanics of Enterprise Architecture governance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assignments will vary based primarily on the teams need but also skillset(s) the incumbent bring(s) and/or wishes to develop. Current needs include Cloud Engineers/IT Administrators/Analysts and will focus on Cloud Management. In all cases the incumbent will be part of a team delivering value for our internal business partners and CareFirst customers and will have a coach/mentor to keep on track.
Data Maintenance in the portfolio tool LeanIX is the major help.
Meeting Follow-up to get the presentations from presenters / follow up on meeting scheduling.
Logging specific events new tech debt, HLD approved, etc. as they occur in the appropriate LeanIX place where they should be recorded to support EA & governance operational metrices.
All architecture meeting outcome updates wherever needed.
Procurement follow up with architects or sourcing associates when we have clarifications or reminders.
All the above will help with maintaining the portfolio tool data consistency and ease with the administrative tasks .
Work with team lead, mentor, and other team members to define upcoming work.
Execute on defined work.
Report daily on work completed, work in process, and any blocking issues.
Periodically demonstrate to stakeholders/customers work completed, receive feedback, and redefine upcoming work based on any new direction.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level/Experience: This position requires an individual working towards a Bachelors degree from an accredited College or University. At least a rising Junior or Senior Undergraduate student targeting degrees in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Technology or related field with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above.
Preferred Skills include (any one of the following):
Basic IT background with good experience in using Microsoft tools like PowerPoint / Excel / Word or similar.
Good communication / people person to perform follow up or reaching out to CareFirst Associates.
Knowledge of Teams, Confluence and SharePoint tools will be a plus for this position.
Knowledge Skills Abilities (KSA's)
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to positively interface with and establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff and external teams.
Attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
An independent means of transportation. Local travel may be necessary.
Demonstrated skills with various computer applications/software.
Salary Range : 18,720 - 26,000
