Pay: $31.98/Hr.-$51.73/Hr. (Based on experience)
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The position will be within the Shops Department and is responsible for performing general mechanical maintenance on power plant equipment. The Shop team supports a culture of continuous improvement by participating in training, reinforcing standards, reporting, and mitigating unsafe or undesirable conditions, and utilizing the corrective action program. This position may regularly require 20% travel. Position Scope: Position reports to CGS Maintenance Foreman The incumbent in this position must be able to communicate across all levels of the organization. Knowledge of plant equipment functions including safety rules and rigging, construction and maintenance practices. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex mechanical problems and make repairs. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Perform maintenance and repair work on plant equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, fans, bearings, pipe systems, valves and limit torque operators. (disassembly, part repair or replacement, assembly) using sound technical decisions regarding maintenance on complex mechanical equipment
Adheres to the conduct of maintenance and established maintenance standards and practices.
Perform assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner at the direction of Maintenance Management.
Demonstrates strong maintenance skill on various pumps, valves, and balance of plan (BOP) equipment in a safe and reliable manor using the correct tools, equipment such as rigging, fork trucks and cranes
Execute work package when assigned.
Interpret and understand power plant prints.
Ability to work on cross-functional teams on major projects.
Provide technical support to plant operations, maintenance staff and engineering to the level of training received.
Perform verification checks on maintenance items covered in maintenance technician training.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Level I
Associates Degree in Power Plant Technology, Engineering Technology, or Electronics OR
HS Diploma with minimum of 12 months of trade or technical experience in Power Plant Technology or relevant field experienceOR
Relevant Vocational Technical High School diploma with 6 months of Shop Experience at Fort Smallwood
Successfully complete the training requirements and time in job requirements for the position including previously passing the MASS test
Valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Ability to work in a power plant environment that includes climbing and walking long distances.
Exposed to heat with reduced stay times, dust, smoke, dirt, high noise areas, confined and cramped work areas, and a nuclear power plant environment including Radiation Dose Exposure.
Works at high elevations on ladders and scaffolds.
Works shift work or weekends as required.
Perform tasks inside radiological controlled areas.
Maintains nuclear qualifications IAW CGS Specific training program.
Maintain Radiation Protection Qualification and training, including respirator qualifications as needed
Ability to obtain unescorted nuclear plant access
Basic computer skills
Good oral and written communication skills
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Level II
Associates Degree in Power Plant Technology, Associates Degree in Power Plant Technology, Engineering Technology,or
Electronics with minimum of 18 months of trade or technical training in Power Plant Technology
Successfully complete the training requirements and time in job requirements for the position including previously passing the MASS test
Valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Ability to work in a power plant environment that includes climbing and walking long distances.

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
