Safety Specialist

Own the Safety Standard on a Major Albany Job Site

We’re looking for an experienced Safety Specialist who takes ownership in the field and leads by example. This role is critical to protecting workers, maintaining compliance, and driving a proactive safety culture on a high-profile, fast-paced onsite project in Albany. If you’re OSHA-certified, field-focused, and serious about safety done right, this is a role where your expertise will matter every day.

Position Overview

The Safety Specialist is responsible for promoting and enforcing a strong safety culture across all job sites and operations. This role ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and industry best practices while proactively identifying and mitigating workplace hazards. You’ll work directly in the field, partnering with leadership and crews to keep safety at the forefront of every operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion and enforce a proactive safety culture across all onsite operations

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and industry standards

  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate workplace hazards

  • Conduct regular job site safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments

  • Lead safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and new‑hire orientations

  • Document safety findings, corrective actions, and procedures clearly and accurately

  • Collaborate with field leadership to drive continuous safety improvement

Required Qualifications

  • OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 certification (required)

  • 5+ years of experience in a safety role within construction, industrial, or manufacturing environments

  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management systems

  • Proven experience conducting safety audits and delivering safety training

  • Ability to work onsite in the field and travel as required

  • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Experience

  • Construction safety and health compliance

  • Safety program management and audit leadership

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Onsite in Albany, NY

  • Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM (50 hours per week)

  • Occasional Saturdays as needed

  • Fast-paced, field-based environment supporting complex, high-impact projects

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
