Job Title: Test Technician Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Electronics Technician to support the maintenance, repair, and testing of electronic systems used in subway trains. The ideal candidate will have experience working with transit-related electronics, communication networks, control circuits, and safety systems. This role is critical to ensuring the quality assembly and functionality of assembled components. Candidates will be working on the assembly floor and are part of the assembly continuum.
Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair electronic components and systems on subway trains, including propulsion, braking, signaling, and communication systems.
Diagnose faults using specialized diagnostic equipment and software.
Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals specific to rail transit systems.
Perform preventive maintenance and system upgrades to ensure reliability and compliance with transit authority standards.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to resolve technical issues and improve system performance.
Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications.
Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and transit authority protocols.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 1 year experience as a quality technician or test technician in electronics, semiconductor, or mechanical manufacturing.
Experience using multi-meter, ammeter, volt meter, and low voltage power supply for testing procedures.
Ability to solder; J-Standard preferred but not required.
Experience reading blueprints and wiring diagrams.
High attention to detail.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working on assessing quality and testing electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
Experience working with transit or rail systems is highly preferred but not required.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and specialized rail system software.
Strong understanding of AC/DC circuits, electronic display units, and electro/mechanical systems.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment
The work environment is clean, well-organized, and equipped with all necessary tools. Employees are required to wear steel-toe shoes and work pants, with dressing in layers recommended for outdoor tasks during fall and winter. The first shift runs Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ballston Spa, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
