Job Title: Sanitation Lead
Description
The Sanitation Lead is responsible for overseeing daily sanitation activities to ensure the facility meets all food‑safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This role coordinates sanitation staff, verifies proper cleaning procedures, and ensures production areas, equipment, and workspaces are maintained in a safe and compliant condition. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, experienced in food‑processing sanitation, and confident leading a team in a fast‑paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Lead and support the sanitation team in cleaning production lines, equipment, floors, and facility areas.
Ensure all sanitation tasks are completed according to established SSOPs (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures).
Oversee proper use of chemicals, cleaning tools, and sanitation equipment.
Verify that equipment is cleaned, rinsed, and sanitized to meet food‑safety standards before production restarts.
Assign daily tasks and coordinate sanitation schedules based on production needs.
Train new and existing team members on sanitation procedures, chemical handling, and safety practices.
Monitor team performance and provide coaching to maintain high standards.
Communicate effectively with production supervisors, maintenance, and quality teams.
Ensure all sanitation staff follow safety procedures, including PPE use and chemical‑handling guidelines.
Report equipment issues, leaks, or hazards to maintenance and management.
Support safe operation of sanitation equipment such as foaming units, pressure washers, and CIP systems.
Promote a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work environment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bakersfield, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
