Buttonwillow Warehouse Co General Manager (GM) in Bakersfield, California
The GM serves as the operational extension of Ownership across all affiliated companies and entities. This role functions as the central integrator, culture driver, and enterprise problem-solver, ensuring alignment, compliance, operational excellence, and accountability across the organization.
This leader ensures that each company operates in compliance with regulatory, financial, and governance standards while driving culture, operational discipline, and cross-functional coordination. The GM translates ownership vision into structured execution and ensures that priorities are implemented consistently across all business units.
This is a high-trust, high-impact role requiring strategic thinking, operational rigor, sound judgment, and the ability to lead through influence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Oversight and Compliance
- Ensures all entities operate in full regulatory, safety, and legal compliance.
- Oversees reporting requirements, audits, and regulatory filings.
- Coordinates oversight of legal claims, disputes, and risk management matters.
- Develops and conducts Quarterly Operations Audits across all business units.
- Maintains and updates company-wide operations manuals, governance documentation, and policies.
- Supports the CFO in evaluating insurance premiums, coverage levels, renewals, and risk exposure strategies.
Operational Integration
- Aligns operational priorities across multiple companies.
- Drives cross-entity communication and execution of strategic initiatives.
- Directs the SOP Committee to standardize processes and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Identifies operational breakdowns and implements structured solutions.
- Directs and coordinates office management and administrative functions at the HQ facility, including back-office operations and support staff.
- Oversees budgeting and expense management for assigned departments and HQ operational functions, ensuring fiscal discipline and alignment with company objectives.
- Works in coordination with the Safety Department to support enterprise-wide safety initiatives, audit preparedness, and risk mitigation efforts.
Leadership Oversight
- Oversees the HR Department and advises on programs, compliance matters, talent strategy, and culture initiatives.
- Oversees the IT Department and advises on systems, infrastructure, and data governance.
- Ensures leadership alignment and accountability across executive and senior leadership teams.
- Acts as an escalation point for complex organizational issues.
Culture and Organizational Health
- Drives company-wide culture initiatives aligned with ownership values.
- Ensures consistent leadership standards and professional expectations.
- Coordinates company-wide meetings, retreats, and enterprise communications.
- Serves as trusted advisor to CEO and Ownership on people, structure, and enterprise health.
Strategic Execution
Translates ownership vision into structured action plans.
