Position Overview
We are seeking a strong, hands-on Operations Shift Supervisor to lead our process plant operations during assigned shifts. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient plant performance while providing direct leadership to plant and operations personnel.
As the on-shift leader, you'll be the primary point of accountability for production, safety, and team performance, making real-time decisions that keep operations running smoothly.
What You'll Do
- Lead and supervise plant and dryer operators during your shift and work closely with wellfield operations
- Ensure all systems operate within approved parameters and procedures
- Monitor production rates, recoveries, and equipment performance; take corrective action as needed
- Respond to process upsets, alarms, and abnormal conditions
- Conduct pre-shift safety meetings and enforce safe work practices
- Stop work when necessary to address unsafe or non-compliant conditions
- Coordinate with maintenance on corrective and preventative work
- Ensure accurate shift logs, reports, and operational documentation
- Communicate plant status and priorities during shift changes
- Train, coach, and mentor operators; hold team members accountable
- Support incident investigations and corrective actions
- Maintain housekeeping standards and operational readiness
- Assist with hands-on operations as needed
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and radiation standards
What You Bring
- Minimum 5 years of plant or industrial operations experience
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong understanding of industrial process systems and safety practices
- Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of:
- Pumps, piping, valves, and process control systems
- Ability to analyze issues and make sound operational decisions
- Strong communication skills across teams and leadership levels
- Basic computer and reporting skills
- Valid driver's license
- High school diploma or GED required; additional education is a plus
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This is a hands-on, field-based role in a mining environment. You'll be expected to:
- Work on your feet, climb, and navigate plant areas
- Lift up to 50 lbs regularly (up to 100 lbs occasionally)
- Work in varying weather conditions and around industrial equipment
- Be exposed to typical industrial hazards, including noise, chemicals, and low-level radiation
