What You Will Do
You play a critical role in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of autonomous equipment, monitoring fleet health in real time and coordinating proactive maintenance to support long‑term reliability. You will monitor real‑time and historical fleet health data, diagnose emerging mechanical, electrical, and autonomous control system issues, and prioritize maintenance actions based on system indicators and operational needs. You serve as a technical authority who advises operations, maintenance, OEM partners, and leadership on system performance and reliability strategy. You apply reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and predictive maintenance methodologies to autonomous fleet assets. You are responsible for implementing maintenance planning, spare parts strategy, and lifecycle management decisions. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime, increase availability, and improve maintenance efficiency. Analyze autonomous fleet performance data to identify patterns, recurring faults, or system improvement opportunities. Document failures, corrective actions, and learnings for future reference. Analyze system-level performance trends to anticipate failure modes and proactively mitigate risk across the autonomous fleet. You lead diagnostics and root‑cause analysis, develop fleet health standards, define KPIs, and maintain documentation to guide improvements. You also mentor personnel, uphold safety and regulatory compliance, prepare reliability and system health reports, respond to safety‑critical alerts to ensure all autonomous equipment operates within required standards, and perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring To Freeport
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering or related field and 3 years combined experience in Mining, Autonomy, Reliability, Project Management, Data Analytics, Continuous Improvement and/or Data‑Driven Methodology
Ability to interpret data from telematics platforms, dashboards, and OEM diagnostic tools
Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
Experience working in technology, mining, industrial, or heavy equipment environment
Analytical thinking
Technical troubleshooting
Collaboration across teams
Adaptability in fast‑paced environments
Commitment to safety and operational excellence
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
Power BI
Experience with mobile maintenance and planning
Experience with autonomous haulage systems (AHS) such as Caterpillar Command, Komatsu AHS, or similar systems
Familiarity with asset health platforms such as MineStar Health, Komatsu VHMS, Wenco, or Hexagon
Background in reliability engineering or condition‑based monitoring
Certifications in Six Sigma, Project Management, or Failure Analysis
Advanced understanding of autonomous haulage systems
Strong grounding in heavy equipment systems
Familiarity with reliability and condition‑based monitoring principles
Awareness of mine safety regulations and autonomous equipment safety protocols
What We Offer You
The estimated pay range for this role is currently $85,000 - $116,500. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
