About the role This CDL A Driver role operates tankers, roll offs, and straight body box trucks using manual transmission equipment, hauling hazardous and non hazardous materials including flammable liquids, corrosive materials, wastewater, and drums. The position is home most days with one to two overnights per week. Responsibilities Safely operate tanker trucks, roll offs, and straight body trucks to load, transport, and unload hazardous and non hazardous materials in compliance with all DOT and EPA regulations. Use an electric pallet jack to move and handle drums and assist with loading as needed. Complete accurate electronic driver logs, manifests, and records using company issued tablets and ELogs systems such as Samsara. Perform daily pre trip and post trip inspections including tires, hoses, valves, fittings, brakes, and safety equipment. Communicate with dispatch through email and electronic systems regarding schedules, routes, and delivery requirements. Follow written and verbal instructions, maintain route accuracy, and ensure safety during all loading and unloading activities. Maintain a clean and organized cab and ensure all equipment is kept in safe working order. Complete additional duties as assigned in support of facility operations. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED preferred. Must be 21 years of age or older for interstate driving. Valid Class A CDL. Tanker and Hazmat endorsements required. Two to three years of CDL driving experience required. Manual transmission experience required. Proficiency with ELogs and electronic tablets preferred. Ability to work safely with drums, pallet jacks, and industrial equipment. Prior industry experience in environmental services, waste, wastewater, or chemical hauling strongly preferred. Clean driving record with no major violations. Must pass a DOT physical and meet all FMCSA driver qualification standards. Physical Demands Ability to lift and move drums and materials as required. Ability to use an electric pallet jack for handling heavy loads. Ability to walk, stand, sit, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work in various weather conditions and maneuver hoses, drums, and equipment safely. Shift Details Typical start time between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM depending on route. Approximately 50 hours per week with ten hour days Monday to Friday. Home most days with one to two overnights per week - Hotel accommodations provided Weekend work is rare with occasional Sunday travel for Monday delivery, usually handled by other drivers.
