Job Description

Join our team as a Back Office Medical Assistant, where you will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician. This role involves both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. You will support clinicians and care management teams in assessing and maintaining chronic disease management, as well as examining and treating the patient population. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality team-based patient care under clinician supervision.

  • Support clinician and care management teams in chronic disease management.

  • Examine and treat patient population.

  • Conduct laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

  • Take manual vitals and assist in patient care.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, employees, and the public.

  • Assess emergencies and act accordingly.

  • Float between various locations as patient queue demands.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma required

  • Medical Assistant diploma OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR 3 years' experience as a Medical Assistant

  • Phlebotomy experience required

  • Active driver's license required

  • Experience with TriMed EMR preferred

  • Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements

  • Knowledge of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices

  • Ability to communicate effectively

  • Flexibility to adjust to changing work environment

  • Independent and responsible

  • Organized

Work Environment

This position is 100% onsite in a medical office setting, with locations including Aventura, North Miami, Miami, and Miami Beach, FL. The shift is Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, and every other Saturday from 7:45am to 12:00pm. Week 1 consists of 42.5 hours/week, while Week 2 consists of 46.75 hours/week.

This is a Permanent position based out of Aventura, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30000.00 - $40000.00/yr.
