This position and program works closely with the Information Technology Division to support existing systems and identify new initiatives.Under the direction of the State Parks Chief of Programs, this position provides highly advanced (senior-level) managerial work administering the daily operations and activities of the Technical Resources program. Responsible for strategic planning, design, and implementation of information systems and technology initiatives to support State Parks operations. Coordinates technology projects, evaluates emerging technologies, and ensures compliance with TPWD and state protocols. Oversees security, reliability, and performance of systems, develops technology standards and policies, and conducts operational assessments for efficiency. Advises leadership on technology-related business needs and collaborates with IT staff to align division priorities with agency directives. Serves on the TPWD IT Advisory Committee and ensures adherence to federal and state guidelines. Supervises staff. Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for independent judgment. Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation:Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelorand#8217;s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or closely related field.Experience:Six years of technology-related project management experience;Four yearsand#8217; experience as a supervisor or team leader.Two years of experience as a project leader and/or team leader responsible for planning and managing large scale, multi-member projects.Note: Experience may have occurred concurrently.Licensure:Applicant must be able to possess a valid State driverand#8217;s license.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience:Experience with State of Texas Department of Information (DIR) policies, procedures requirements.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESKnowledge of technology project management standards, procedures, and methodologies.Knowledge of principles and practices of state government and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.Knowledge of information technology theory, applications, and management, including hardware, software, and technical environments.Knowledge of technology-related business practices and strategies.Skill in technology project management across phases: initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and closing.Skill in managing complex technology projects, resources, personnel, and workloads.Skill in effective verbal and written communication, including drafting and evaluating analyses, documentation, proposals, plans, policies, and reports.Skill in problem-solving, decision-making under time constraints, and identifying alternatives.Skill in building and maintaining effective relationships with direct reports, peers and external stakeholders.Skill in using MS Word, Excel, Outlook and other standard office software.Skill in administering contracts and managing technology vendors.Skill in managing hardware and software assets and aligning technology services with organizationa
