Systems Administration and Maintenance: Manage and maintain the Center for Energy and Environmental Resources (CEER's) servers, desktops, and network infrastructure across Windows, macOS, and Linux environments Perform system patching, SSL certificate renewals, OS-level updates, and backup verification routines Administer virtualized environments and storage systems in support of CEER's research and business operations Oversee configuration, security, and maintenance of departmental servers, ensuring performance and uptimeUser and Project Support: Automation and Workflow Optimization Develop and maintain automation tools and scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) to streamline IT processes Use native OS tools (e.g., Automator/Shortcuts on macOS) to enhance admin workflows and task efficiency Generate automated reports from CSVs/logs for compliance tracking, permission reviews, and GPO summaries.Security, Compliance and Policy Enforcement: Implement and enforce cybersecurity best practices. Conduct permissions audits, log reviews, and GPO validation to enforce access control policies Maintain documentation and system baselines to support audit readiness and compliance reporting Apply system hardening standards (e.g., CIS Benchmarks, DISA STIGs) to all managed devices and environments.Backup, Disaster Recovery and Documentation: Provide end-user support for faculty, staff, and students (65 personnel), including system provisioning, troubleshooting, and remote assistance Image, configure, and maintain laptops and desktops; support application installations and license management Assist with website content updates and small-scale web maintenance Coordinate with UT central IT and vendors on escalated technical issues.Perform other related duties as assigned.
