Student Engagement and Mentorship: Provide informal mentorship and serve as a point of contact for students involved in Center programming. Help students connect with relevant resources and opportunities while fostering a supportive community for those interested in public service careers. Engage with students and event attendees to strengthen programming and build a sense of belonging.Program and Event Support: Assist in planning and executing Clements Center events, conferences, and student programs. This includes logistical support such as managing registrations, applications, travel arrangements, catering, facilities coordination, and basic event marketing. The role also involves collaborating with partner organizations like the Strauss Center, Intelligence Studies Project, and America in the World Consortium for co-sponsored events and student opportunities.Administrative Support: Support the student programs team with general administrative duties such as processing receipts and payment vouchers, ordering supplies, managing travel logistics, and maintaining departmental records. This also includes tasks like answering phones, greeting visitors, scanning and copying documents, and ensuring a welcoming office environment.Special Projects and Professional Development Activities: Assist with the logistics and execution of student professional development activities, including workshops and off-site events in locations such as Washington, DC and Fredericksburg. Support faculty-led study abroad programs and contribute to other hands-on learning initiatives that expose students to national security and public service careers.Marketing and Communications: Prepare promotional materials for events using tools such as Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office. Support event outreach efforts by contributing to marketing strategies that elevate the visibility and impact of Center programming.Other Duties as Assigned: Provide flexible support for additional tasks and responsibilities that arise, adapting to the evolving needs of the Center.
