IBM Senior Managing Consultant - HR Transformation in Austin, Texas

Your role and responsibilities

At IBM, we help clients modernize the workforce foundations that support mission delivery — from HR operating models and business processes to HR Business Applications, employee experience, service delivery, and skills transformation.

As a Senior Managing Consultant, you will work at the intersection of strategy, workforce transformation, organizational change, and modern HR technology. You will help public sector clients solve complex workforce challenges while ensuring transformation is practical, trusted, and built to last.

You will also bring IBM’s Client Zero experience into this work — applying lessons from IBM’s own workforce and HR transformation journey, including the use of AI, automation, digital assistants, and new ways of working, to help clients modernize with greater confidence and credibility.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and support HR and workforce transformation initiatives for clients in Healthcare, Life Sciences and State and Local Government agencies

  • Help clients modernize across:

· HR operating model and service delivery

· HR Business Applications

· business process redesign

· employee experience

· skills and workforce transformation

· organizational change and readiness

  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and design sessions to define current-state challenges and future-state priorities

  • Develop transformation roadmaps, operating model recommendations, and executive-ready deliverables

  • Help clients align workforce priorities with modern platforms, AI, automation, and digital capabilities

  • Contribute to thought leadership, business development, and proposal support for IBM’s HR Transformation practice

Required technical and professional expertise

As a Business Transformation Consultant specializing in HR Transformation, you will bring industry-leading thought leadership to clients to devise and implement strategies that transform employee experiences from Hire to Retire. You will focus on optimizing Human Resource, Workforce Management, and Talent functions by creating a vision and roadmap aligned to the client's business strategy and transformation value case.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Develop Transformation Strategies: Create a vision and roadmap aligned to the client's business strategy and transformation value case, utilizing design thinking and analytics to analyze client needs and recommend solutions that drive business value.

• Innovate with Clients: Collaborate with clients to streamline processes and upgrade and rationalize their HR and Talent Technologies to deliver high-quality services, reduce costs, and deliver business value.

• Analyze Client Needs: Utilize service and process modeling to analyze client needs and identify opportunities for improvement, recommending solutions that align to the business strategy and drive business value.

• Implement Solutions: Implement solutions that align to the business strategy and drive business value, leveraging industry-leading thought leadership and expertise in HR Transformation.

• Drive Business Value: Deliver solutions that reduce costs, improve efficiency, and enhance employee experiences, driving business value for clients

Preferred technical and professional experience

• HR Technology Expertise: Proficiency in upgrading and rationalizing HR and Talent technologies to deliver high-quality services, reduce costs, and drive business value, with a focus on leveraging technology to enable business outcomes. Experience with identifying and implementing AI solutions for HR use cases.
