Job Description:
The Senior Java Developer will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing SCOR Java applications for HHSC. This includes implementing updates to business logic, user interface, and reporting capabilities, supporting defect corrections and application maintenance, and troubleshooting issues across multiple environments. The role requires participation in coding, testing, peer reviews, documentation, and root cause analysis while maintaining compliance with testing and security standards. On-call support may be required.
Responsibilities:
Make updates to SCOR Java applications, including business logic and UI updates.
Extend reporting capabilities and maintain the system data model.
Support application enhancements and defect corrections in maintenance mode.
Work across multiple environments including coding, testing, peer reviews, and documentation.
Conduct defect root cause analysis and troubleshooting as required.
Maintain code coverage, testing, and security policies and procedures.
Provide on-call support as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the unit operations team.
Required Skills & Experience:
8+ years experience in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) using Java.
8+ years experience in applications development on the J2EE platform.
8+ years experience writing SQL queries for relational databases.
8+ years experience with RESTful web services using the Spring framework.
8+ years experience with Spring Aspect-Oriented Programming (AOP) including transaction management and security).
8+ years experience developing unit tests using JUnit.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
4+ years experience with Angular UI framework.
4+ years experience with Crystal Reports.
4+ years experience with Power BI.
Eligibility
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Must be local to Austin, TX.
