ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Strategic PlanningWorking with the Chair and other senior leaders, refines and implements strategic plan for growing the Department across the mission pillars of research, education, clinical care and community impact.Develops and implements strategic plans to achieve organizational goals.Analyzes market trends and competitive landscape.Collaborates with senior leadership to align strategies with business objectives.Operational ManagementOversees departmental policies for recruitment, hiring process, and onboarding of new faculty and staff.Oversees daily operations of the healthcare system.Provides leaderships for the major business function within the Department, including management of processes and staff related to educational programming, research administration, faculty affairs (evaluations, promotions, appointments for 45 faculty members); internal and external communications; policy development; facilities/space planning; CME; and others.Manages budgets and financial performance for the department.Ensures compliance with regulatory standards.Team LeadershipProvides leadership and accountability for central Department staff and Division administrators, including performance management, professional development, and reassessing plans for work distribution.Leads and mentors assigned team members.Fosters a collaborative and innovative work environment.Conducts performance evaluations and provides feedback.Project ManagementManages key projects from inception to completion.Coordinates cross-functional teams to ensure project success.Monitors project timelines and deliverables.Marginal or Periodic FunctionsParticipates in industry conferences and networking events.Provides mentoring and guidance to emerging leaders within the organization.Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency while supporting department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization.Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.Performs related duties as required.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIESSees ahead clearly and can anticipate future consequences and trends accurately.Strong financial acumen and knows how businesses work and possesses knowledge of current and possible future policies, practices, trends, and information; understands the financial impact of decisions.Demonstrated ability to lead clinical programmatic growth, including business planning, operational execution, and stakeholder alignmentKnowledge of healthcare delivery models, performance metrics, and quality improvementAbility to effectively deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced and changing environment.Strong planning skills to develop and adapt strategies based on changing market conditions.Expert knowledge of academic operations to develop long-term strategies that align with organizational goals and identify and mitigate potential risks.Ability to adapt strategies based on changing market conditions and balance short term and long-term impacts.Ability to make good decisions based on a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.Strong critical thinking skills and judgement to evaluate relevant information and involve appropriate stakeholders before making decisions.Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to relate to people across the organization.Ability to communicate a compelling and inspired vision or sense of core purpose.Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and inspire and motivate others to achieve the vision.Ability to aligns team goals with the organizational vision.Ability to resolve conflicts, foster a positive work environment, and recognize and reward team achievements.Ability to develop and manage budgets effectively.Ability to analyze financial data to inform strategic decisions and ensure financial sustainability of projects and initiatives.EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
