Job Summary and Qualifications

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the House Supervisor, according to hospital policies and procedures, the RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for her/his assigned patients.

2 years minimum recent experience in two areas of hospital nursing patient care.

*Required associate degree in Nursing any hires after 05/01/2020. Bachelor’s degree preferred

  1. Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation. FT/PT/PRN colleagues with a compact license from a state other than Texas must:
  • apply for Texas RN license within 60 days from hire,

  • obtain current TX RN license within 6 months of application for TX RN license.

All Registered Nurses caring for stroke patients will be required to:

1) maintain annual NIHSS per department direction

2) maintain 8 hours of stroke education per year as per department direction

3) must complete the mandatory stroke core measure module on health stream per Department direction.

Preferred:

Certification in area of specialty.
