Exciting opportunity to join the inaugural Ascension Seton OB Hospitalist group in Austin, Texas!
As we prepare for the grand opening of our state-of-the art Ascension Seton Women's Hospital - a facility designed to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care across the spectrum of women's health - we are establishing a dedicated Obstetric Hospitalist Program . This team will enhance safety, continuity, and patient satisfaction through 24/7 on-site obstetric coverage at 2 sites and weekend coverage at a third site.
The Obstetric Hospitalist will provide round-the-clock inpatient obstetric care, ensuring immediate availability for labor and delivery triage, emergent obstetric events, and inpatient consultations. The ideal candidate is a board-certified/board - eligible OB/GYN who thrives in a fast paced environment and is committed to deliver high quality, evidence based care.
Position Highlights:
3 site choices - Ascension Seton Women's Hospital at Ascension Seton Women's Hospital, Ascension Seton Medical Center Williamson in Round Rock, Texas and Dell Children's Medical Center Special Delivery Unit
Flexible scheduling models available including 12 or 24-hour shifts
Full-time, part-time or PRN available
Anticipated commitment of service of this group to each of the 3 sites includes: Dell Children's Medical Center - 24/7, 7 days/week ; Ascension Seton Medical Center Williamson - Friday, 5pm to Monday, 8am ; Ascension Seton Women's Hospital - 7pm to 7am weekdays, Friday, 7pm to Monday, 7am .
Compensation is per hour determined by acuity level of the patients: Ascension Seton Women's Hospital - 200/hr; Ascension Seton Medical Center Williamson - 180/hr; Dell Children’s Medical Center - 150/hr
Professional liability coverage with tail.
Participation in shaping the culture, work-flows, and growth of a new flagship program in women's health.

Additional Requirements:
Completion of an accredited residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology
Board Certified or Board Eligible by ABOG
Current Texas medical license (or eligibility) and DEA registration by start date
Prior experience as an OB hospitalist or in high-acuity obstetrics preferred but not required.
The Greater Austin region is one of the fastest-growing communities in the United States, with sustained population growth across Austin and the surrounding Central Texas counties. As more families and young professionals relocate to the area, the demand for high-quality women’s health services continues to expand. Ascension is actively investing in the growth of its Central Texas ministry to meet the needs of this rapidly developing community.
In the coming years, additional OB-GYN physician positions are expected to be added to support the expanding patient population and strengthen coverage across Ascension hospitals and care sites throughout the region, creating ongoing opportunities for physicians who are interested in building long-term practices within a collaborative and mission-driven health system.

What minimum requirements you’ll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Education:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
