Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Austin, Texas
Description We are looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Austin, Texas. In this role, you will manage payroll operations to ensure timely and accurate processing while adhering to all relevant labor laws and accounting standards. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with employees and management, providing expertise in payroll systems and compliance within the manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities:
• Process payroll efficiently and accurately, ensuring compliance with labor laws and accounting principles.
• Provide guidance to employees on payroll-related inquiries, including wage deductions, accruals, benefits, and other compensation matters.
• Review and validate payroll entries such as salary adjustments, benefit deductions, termination dates, and leaves of absence.
• Generate regular payroll reports and support financial audits related to payroll records and general ledger entries.
• Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations, including federal and state income taxes, social security contributions, and other mandatory reporting.
• Prepare quarterly and year-end payroll reports to maintain accurate documentation.
• Investigate and advise management on fringe benefit reporting, pay practices, and other payroll-related policies.
• Enhance payroll systems and procedures to streamline the collection, calculation, and entry of pay data. Requirements • Proficiency in Ceridian payroll systems, including full-cycle payroll processing.
• Experience managing bi-monthly and multi-state payroll operations.
• Knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations, including special payroll deductions.
• Ability to manage approved timesheets and ensure accurate payroll data entry.
• Strong analytical skills to review and audit payroll information for accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills to address payroll inquiries and provide clear guidance.
• Familiarity with fringe benefits and payroll reporting requirements.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines in payroll operations.
