include assisting with daily planning, assigning tasks, ensuring safety compliance, interpreting blueprints and work orders, collaborating with other departments and contractors, troubleshooting, performing craft-specific work, training team members, operating equipment, maintaining quality control, and completing supervisor-assigned duties.ResponsibilitiesLead full-time employees and contractors on the job site. Relay instructions, scheduling and assigning work in the absence of the supervisor. Inspect completed work.Perform work typical of the craft and/or job classification of those workers in the group (placing fiber and copper cable through manhole and tunnel systems, splicing, troubleshooting and testing copper and fiber etc.)Inspect work area for protection/including Safety hazard warnings. Assist supervisor with creating estimates. Enter time on work orders. Operating a UT vehicle. Driving university owned vehicles to job sites will be required for this position. Maintain acceptable driver rating as established in Policy UTS157. Perform other related functions as assigned.
