Develop and maintain the inventory and testing of UT-owned liquid nitrogen dewars. Work with researchers to keep them in compliance with this program. Assist in the inventory and management of the biosafety cabinet program.Performs lab inspections at all UT research facilities including MSI and PRC locations. Performs associated work with these inspections such as data entry, chemical inventories, updating/printing, and posting lab signs. Performs follow-up inspections. Assists in edits to the Lab Safety Self Evaluation. Meets with new PIs for their introduction to EHS services.Assist in the management of student groups to include safety evaluation, SOP review, and process evaluation. Review occupational hazards such as tool safety, electrical safety, respirator use, engineering controls, and space evaluation.Provides laboratory safety-related training when needed and support to senior lab safety specialists. Creates new training modules and revises existing training. Assists with the development and revision of lab safety-related written procedures and other resources.Responds to lab incidents, spills and odor calls and calibrates response equipment. Consults with lab staff on safety related issues. Reviews the Facilities after-hours reports and follows up on lab related issues.Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Contributes as a team member to EHS with competent performance, demonstrates leadership and respects other employees. Provides exceptional customer service and conducts work safely. Drive University vehicles. Maintain acceptable driver rating as established in Policy: UTS157 Section 2.5.4.
