IT Project Manager

On-site | Austin, TX | Contract-to-Hire

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, lead, and deliver IT projects across infrastructure, applications, security, and systems initiatives

  • Manage full project lifecycle including scope, requirements, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation Partner with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to translate business needs into technical project plans Coordinate cross‑functional IT teams (developers, engineers, analysts, security, vendors)

  • Track project milestones, dependencies, risks, and issues; implement mitigation strategies as needed Ensure projects align with IT standards, security policies, and compliance requirements

  • Manage changes to scope, schedule, and resources using formal change control processes

  • Communicate clear project status updates, risks, and timelines to leadership and stakeholders

  • Facilitate project meetings, stand‑ups, steering committees, and post‑implementation reviews

  • Ensure successful handoff to operations, support, or business teams upon project completion

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • 3–7 years of experience managing IT projects (infrastructure, applications, security, cloud, or systems)

  • Proven experience leading cross‑functional IT teams and external vendors

  • Strong understanding of IT concepts, systems, and lifecycles (networks, software, databases, cloud, cybersecurity)

  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, and resources

  • Proficiency with project management tools (Jira, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Asana, Monday.com, etc.)

  • Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid project environments

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including executive‑level reporting

  • Ability to identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies

  • Strong documentation, planning, and organizational skills

  • Ability to translate business needs into actionable technical project plans
