ABM Industries Facility Maintenance Technician, Engineering in Austin, Texas

ABM is hiring a Maintenance Technician in the Austin, TX area. In this role, you will support our facilities team by performing light maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep to ensure the building remains clean, safe, and fully operational. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in maintaining a high-quality environment.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00/hour DOE

The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

401(k) – You become eligible to make personal contributions beginning the first of the month following 30 days of employment. You become eligible for the ABM match beginning the first of the month following six months of employment. ABM matches your pre-tax and/or Roth contributions, dollar for dollar, for the first 3%. For the next 2%, ABM contributes $0.50 for each dollar you contribute. Your contributions and match are immediately vested.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform light maintenance and repair duties throughout the facility

  • Conduct routine inspections and report any issues or needed repairs

  • Support general facilities upkeep, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are met

  • Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical tasks as needed

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition

  • Respond to work orders and service requests in a timely and professional manner

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Previous maintenance or facilities support experience preferred

  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, minor repairs, and safety procedures

  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required

Schedule

  • Full-time

  • Must be available for occasional overtime or flexible hours based on facility needs
