ERS currently offers opportunities that include flexible work schedules.ERS is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator to perform highly complex to advanced (senior-level) database and application administration work for ERS systems. Work involves monitoring, maintaining, developing and tuning integrated database system environments for ERS application areas. Works primarily within PeopleSoft environments running on IBMand#8217;s AIX platform utilizing Oracle RDBMS. May also support SQL Server databases. Works under limited to minimal direction of the Database Administrators Manager with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Essential Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Performs highly complex to advanced system and database administration for ERS applications, including installing, configuring, upgrading, patching, and maintaining Oracle databases and supporting software in accordance with established standards and best practices. Monitors database performance, conducts tuning, and resolves operational issues to ensure reliability and availability in development, test and production environments; executes database backup, recovery, cloning and maintenance activities; participates in disaster recovery testing and assists with implementation. Supports application teams by providing technical guidance and resolving database-related issues in single or multitier environments; assists in collecting, validating, and preparing data to support AI and analytics initiatives, ensuring databases are optimized for reporting and analytical workloads Evaluates and recommends database and system management tools to improve operational efficiency. Develops and maintains standard operating procedures, technical guidelines, and performance metrics. Provides on-call and after-hours support as required, ensuring compliance with agency policies, procedures and standards. Attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies. Complies with all applicable agency policies and procedures, including safety and standards of conduct. Performs other duties as assigned.As Database Administrator IV, will complete all essential functions of Database Administrator III in addition to the following:Leads enterprise-level database initiatives, including capacity planning, disaster recovery strategy, high-availability solutions, and optimization for AI, machine learning, and analytics workload. Designs scalable, high-performance, and reliable Oracle database architectures for enterprise applications across development, test and production environments. Provides strategic technical guidance to developers, IT staff, and management, influencing long-range planning, architecture standards, and system improvements. Evaluates and recommends enterprise database management tools, emerging technologies, and data platforms to support advanced analytics, AI, and business intelligence initiatives. Establishes and maintains best practices, policies, and standards for database administration, AI, and analytics data pipelines. Participates in strategic planning and decision-making for enterprise IT initiatives and ensures alignment with agency goals, AI initiatives, and technology strategies.Required Minimum Qualifications: Your application for emp oyment must reflect how you meet each of the following minimum qualifications:1. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in data processing, computer science, management information systems, business or related field. Attainment of a diploma from a two-year technical school with specialization in computer technology may substitute for 60 semester college credit hours. Qualifying experience beyond the minimum required may substitute for education.2. Six (6) to eight (8) yearsand#8217; experience (depending on classification level) in progressively difficult technical computer systems support roles.3. Five (5) yearsand#8217; experience performing Oracle Database Administrator work on a UNIX platform.4. Two (2) to four (4) yearsand#8217; experience (depending on classification level) in the performance tuning of Oracle database environments.Preferred Qualifications: Your application for employment should reflect how you meet the following preferred qualifications:5. Prefer one (1) yearsand#8217; experience as a Microsoft SQL Server database administrator.10.
