Actalent Controls Engineer in Austin, Texas

Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Controls Engineer to support the development of liquid cooling test racks and control panels. This role will focus on PLC programming, HMI development, and system integration for leak detection and automated control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and program PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Schneider).

  • Design and implement HMI interfaces for system monitoring and control.

  • Integrate sensors and control logic for liquid cooling and leak detection systems.

  • Support panel build, testing, and commissioning activities onsite.

  • Troubleshoot and optimize control systems.

Essential Skills

  • 8-10 years of experience in controls engineering.

  • Strong PLC programming skills with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Schneider Electric.

  • HMI development experience.

  • Experience with industrial control panels or test systems.

  • Familiarity with I/O systems, sensors, and automation hardware.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, urgent project environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with cooling systems, CDUs, or fluid systems.

  • Commissioning and startup experience.

  • Familiarity with AWS.

Work Environment

The position offers a remote work environment with a requirement for 2-3 weeks onsite for panel build activities. There is potential for a full-time role if the project is completed successfully or an extension to other teams/projects.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Austin, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $72.00 - $110.00/hr.
