We are seeking an experienced Middleware Administrator to support our custom application infrastructure while collaborating closely with application development, security, and IT infrastructure teams. As a Middleware Team member, you will play a key role in enhancing the performance, resiliency, and security of the Comptrollerand#8217;s application infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include day-to-day operations, continuous improvement of full-stack and microservices-based solutions, enterprise software maintenance and upgrades, platform monitoring, incident response and resolution, security configuration, and ensuring system stability, performance, and availability. You are an excellent fit for this role if you are self-motivated, automation-focused, detail-oriented, and a skilled communicator with sound judgment.Work Hours8AM to 5PM, 40-hour week, Monday and#8211; Friday, with occasional evening, weekend and/or holiday hours, including working on-call 24 hours a day during a rotation. Hours may change based on business need. Teleworking may be considered if certain working conditions are met. The candidate must have permanent residency within the state of Texas and must be able to meet in office requirements, which can vary among different sections (i.e. report to office 1 day/month, 3days/week, etc.). Travel reimbursements are not provided for teleworking. Qualifications: Minimum Qualificationsand#8226; Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelorand#8217;s degree.and#8226; Seven (7) years of general technology experience in either software development, middle are or server administration.and#8226; Seven (7) years of experience with middleware system administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.and#8226; Five (5) years of experience with programming/scripting for automation in Ansible, Python, BASH scripts, Perl or similar.Preferred Qualificationsand#8226; Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelorand#8217;s degree in information systems, computer science or related field.and#8226; Experience with web application and web services development and/or deployments.and#8226; Experience with MuleSoft, IBM WebSphere Liberty, Red Hat OpenShift, ForgeRock, Red Hat DataGrid, SAG BigMemory MAX, Apache httpd, Apache Tomcat, Form.io or similar systems in Linux or Windows.and#8226; Experience maintaining and troubleshooting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or other Linux distributions.and#8226; Experience monitoring server and application performance in Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar monitoring tools.and#8226; Experience in establishing and maintaining security configuration hardening of middleware systems to CIS or DISA STIG benchmarks.SubstitutionOne (1) additional year of the full-time minimum experience in middleware system management and administration may substitute for the education requirement on a year for year basis up to 4 years (120 semester hours).In this role you will:Provides architectural and systems analysis.and#8226; Architect modifications and enhancements and supports technical and business needs of the agency.and#8226; Analyzes existing procedures for efficiency and effectiveness.and#8226; Ensures middleware services adheres to agency standards, policies, and procedures.and#8226; May serve as technical lead on projects as necessary.and#8226; May represent team during meetings and projects.and#8226; Stays informed on latest developments in middleware technologies and applications.and#8226; Develops and maintains accurate system and architectural documentation for middleware systems and processes.and#8226; Conducts training of staff prior to implementation of systems, provides advice and guidance during and post implementation.and#8226; Oversees, trains, and mentors other team members on adherence to accepted operating proceduresand#8226; Supports management with budgeting and compliance processes.Provides systems administration.and#8226; Installs, configures, tests, upgrades, and maintains middleware services and software.and#8226; Utilizes agency ticketing system to enter and track problems and work requests.and#8226; Monitors and responds to system and application performance and alertsand#8226; Participates in rotating 24x7 on-call schedule.and#8226; Participates in disaster recovery testing and events.and#8226; Automates routines using scripting and other programming languages.and#8226; Completes all required and assigned training before due date.Performs other duties as assigned.Maximize Your Earnings!At the Comptroller's office, we know potential employees are looking for more than just a paycheck.
