This includes recruiting and hiring staff; on-boarding new hires; coordinating benefits; training and developing the workforce on HR topics; creating and implementing employee engagement initiatives; and facilitating separation. Human Resourcesand#8217; professionals are consultants and business partners; they advise managers and employees on workforce issues and help the agency achieve its business goals.General Description:Join Human Resources as a Human Resources Operations Specialist! Work involves human resources management work, and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws related to human resourcesand#8217; policies and procedures. The Human Resources Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing core human resources functions including policy implementation, compliance, onboarding, offboarding and employee retention. The role ensures that HR operations align with organizational goals and state regulations, while fostering a high-performing, service-oriented HR team.Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week with occasional evening, weekend hours and holidays. Hours may change based on business need.This position may be eligible for a flexible/hybrid work schedule of 3 in office days and 2 remote workdays once certain conditions are met. Work schedules may change at any time as business necessitates.Salary Range:and#183; Human Resources Specialist III: $4,833.33-$5,400.00/monthlyand#183; Human Resources Specialist IV: $5,583.33-$6,000.00/monthly Qualifications: Minimum Qualificationsand#183; Bachelorand#8217;s degree.and#183; 1 year of experience in Human Resources Operations.and#183; Experience in Human Resources Process Management.Preferred Qualificationsand#183; Ba helorand#8217;s degree in Human Resources, Business, or Psychology.and#183; Experience working in a Human Resources office providing administrative or technical assistance to staff.and#183; Experience working with the Centralized Accounting and Payroll/Personnel System (CAPPS).and#183; Experience using computer applications to include Access and/or SharePoint.and#183; Experience in one or more of the following: state purchasing, property, security coordinator and open records.Substitutionsand#183; One (1) additional year of experience performing human resources work may substitute for thirty semester hours of the educational requirement with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours (four years).Licenses and Certificationsand#183; Preferred: Professional Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) and/or SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP.In this role you will:Manages the day-to-day activities of the HR office.and#183; Provides comprehensive administrative and technical support, including reception, call management, mail processing, appointment scheduling, and customer assistance.and#183; Processes employee name change requests and updates corresponding HR documentation and forms to maintain accurate records.and#183; Completes employment and mortgage verification requests accurately and in a timely manner.and#183; Provides technical customer assistance as needed.and#183; Coordinate the maintenance and analysis of human resources automated systems, files, records, and reports/or requested by applicants in person, by phone, via email, and/or other written inquiries.and#183; Works collaboratively with internal customers to identify, research, troubleshoot, communicate, and resolve Performance Evaluation and Personnel Action Forms issues.and#183; Administers and tracks employee leave programs including administrative, bereavement, and wellness leave, ensuring compliance with policy guidelines, timely documentation.and#183; Oversee HR budget functions including vendor invoicing, workersand#8217; compensation and insurance coordination, contract management, and compliance reporting.and#183; Processes employee travel reimbursements promptly and accurately, adhering to internal expense procedures.and#183; Reconciles monthly P card statements, provides supporting purchase documentation for the team.and#183; Maintains and improves record keeping systems to ensure alignment with state and federal requirements.and#183; Provides technical assistance in records maintenance, records retention, and agency policies and procedures relating to Human Resources records keeping and filing systems.and#183; Provides instructions to applicants, submits requests to vendors, provides reports to management and results to the Talent Acquisition Specialist.Assist with New Employee Orientation (NEO)Assist with New Employee Orientation (NEO)and#183; Coordinates full onboarding processes, including personnel action forms, required documentation, communications, and workspace/logistical setup.and#183; Process I-9 and E-Verify for new hires.and#183; Provides backup for HR training to new hires during NEO.Performs special projects and other duties as assigned. Including but not limited to:and#183; Assisting the SECC Coordinator during agencyand#8217;s annual State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC) and wellness initiatives.and#183; Back-up to other operational support staff for purchasing, contracts, and travel.and#183; Digitizing paper files into an electronic format.
