This role encompasses serving within Systems Engineering (SE) as a Lead Production Integration & Test engineer for multiple product lines. This role requires the capability of troubleshooting test program interface hardware (TPIH), automated test stations, and test program software (TPSW) as it relates to the test equipment utilized for current production lines.

In Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions, we provide next-generation threat detection and countermeasure solutions to provide unparalleled electronic warfare capabilities to enhance mission survivability.
BAE Systems is seeking an experienced systems engineer to lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to support established products in test solutions. You will serve as both a technical leader & contributor to create engineering solutions for production test platforms. You will solve complex problems, support the entire systems engineering lifecycle, and help to align staffing and technical resources. You will support key customer milestones and work with other talented engineers to solve challenging problems to grow within the established product areas. As a Technical Leader, you will also work with other engineering staff to grow and capture our knowledge through engineering changes, lessons learned, insights, Agile Retrospectives and product/process improvements in your area(s) of expertise.
This position is based out of our Austin, TX facility and may require collaboration with staff across our business areas and facilities in the Northeast.

Responsibilities :
Team Leadership & Mentorship :
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of [Number] Systems Engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Provide technical guidance, conduct performance reviews, and identify training opportunities.
Technical Oversight :
Provide technical oversight and direction for systems engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, from requirements definition to system integration and testing.
Requirements Management :
Oversee the elicitation, analysis, documentation, and management of system requirements. Ensure traceability and completeness of requirements.
Architecture & Design :
Contribute to and review system architectures, ensuring alignment with business needs, technical constraints, and industry best practices.
System Integration & Testing :
Lead and/or participate in system integration and testing activities, ensuring system performance and reliability.
Risk Management :
Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with system development and integration.
Process Improvement :
Continuously evaluate and improve systems engineering processes and tools.
Collaboration :
Collaborate effectively with other engineering disciplines (Software, Hardware, Test, etc.), product management, and other stakeholders.
Project Planning & Execution :
Contribute to project planning, resource allocation, and schedule management. Track progress and report status to management.
Documentation :
Ensure the creation and maintenance of high-quality system documentation, including requirements specifications, design documents, and test plans.
Compliance :
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. (Master's degree preferred).
8 years of experience in a Systems Engineering role.
4 years of experience in a leadership or mentoring role.
Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, processes, and tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion, Jama Connect).
Experience with requirements management, system architecture design, and system integration and testing.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Proficiency in using common office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
Must currently possess a Secret clearance.
Experience leading a multidisciplinary team
Takes initiative and has a closure-oriented nature
Experience defining, allocating, and validating and verifying system performance throughout the System lifecycle
Knowledge and experience with the Department of Defense project life cycle
Possess good communication skills including interpersonal communication and team communication.
Able to prioritize work, multi-task and adjust to time constraint
Attention to detail; possessing a drive for continuous improvement and product ownership
Analytical and critical thinking skills; a creative and proactive thinker who enjoys solving complex problems
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience in factory production test stands, problem isolation and resolution. Debug skills
Experienced in using RF test instrumentation (Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generators, etc.)
Exposure to RF Test equipment automation
Experience with designing, testing, and/or prototyping RF and communications equipment
Tools: Experience using NI Lab Windows CVI and NI TestStand, C# and/or C is a plus
Ability to perform test solution development: Hardware Focus (test adapters, cables, tools, and interface modules) and Software Focus (drivers, utilities, executives, and test software)
Knowledge of SysML and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Experience with Agile Methodologies and Tools
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $132962 - $226035
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
