UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN Assistant Director for Development in AUSTIN, Texas

Lead the development, writing, submission, and reporting for a diverse grant portfolio of over $15 million, including foundations (both solicited LOIs and RFPs), relationship-based opportunities, federal and state grants, and corporate foundations. Conduct research to identify funding prospects and open awards that align with the Centers strategic priorities. Work collaboratively with the Centers operations team, including finance, project management, communications, and technology; Center development staff; Center leadership; program staff and subject matter experts; and development colleagues across UT to conceptualize proposals and to develop reports.Maintain and steward current donors, including relationship building, strategy, fundraising event strategy, site visits, and prospective pipeline development and maintenance. Identify and secure meetings for Center leadership with foundation prospect executives and program staff. Monitor proposal deadlines and manage proposal submissions. Manage and implement appeals throughout the year. Be a spokesperson and advocate for the Centers mission by participating in networking events, giving presentations, and supporting the University and College of Natural Sciences in their donor relationshipsManage, support, and develop the Centers three-person development team to achieve the Centers mission, vision, and strategic goals. With the operations team, develop and implement effective process and ensure efficiencies and transparency across work streams. Create a workplace that allows team to work nimbly too deadline-driven proposals or reportsProvide analysis and make recommendations for foundation, federal and state, and corporate solicitation to Center leadership. Use fundraising databases and prospecting tools. Maintain electronic documentation including donor and prospective funder tracking, funder reporting and other related information. Ensure proactive communications among stakeholdersDevelop a deep understanding of current fundraising priorities. Support current and future advisory boards who raise funds and awareness of the Center and its mission, opportunities, major initiatives, and areas of need.Participate in processes and activities designed to establish an organizational culture that supports learning, collaboration, and collective responsibility in order to enhance professional relationships, job satisfaction, and organizational effectiveness.
